GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
 
To inspect, repair, and weld quality parts, in a timely fashion, following proper procedures, to meet customer requirements.  Responsible for accurate reporting of production and scrap.
 
 
 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping at all times.
  2. Operate manual weld cells and meet standards.
  3. Must have knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
  4. Inspect and clean the welding fixtures for weld spatter buildup and for loose or damaged weld fixture components.
  5. Ability to perform GMAW general process upkeep. (Tip changes, liner change, gas diffuser change and well wire spool changes).
  6. Knowledge of using all shop floor tools, air grinders, torques, torque wrenches, etc.
  7. Maintain customer quality requirements and specifications, while continually improving process
  8. Correctly load sub-components onto the weld fixtures in a uniform, consistent and timely manner.
  9. Responsible for producing a quality weld in a production environment with minimal scrap.
  10. Knowledge of jigs and fixtures an asset.
  11. Have the ability to determine a good from a bad weld.
  12. Report to the Team Leader any malfunctions in equipment or material as soon as possible.
  13. Follow safety rules and regulations.
  14. Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  15. Work as a Team Member in all situations.
  16. Participate in making suggestions for continuous improvements of work environment and processes.

Work in conjunction with DBG’s quality objectives and understand how poor-quality affects DBG, our customers and the end user of our product

 EDUCATION REQUIRED
 
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Post-Secondary Education in Welding Field
 
 
 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Previous Experience in Production Welding or equivalent education
  • Ability to read, write, and relate the meaning of written instructions to practical application
  • Knowledge of GMAW process principles of operation.
  • Complete knowledge of welding safety.
 
 RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS 

Must work well as a Team Member
Must work closely with Team Leaders, Production Manager and other departments
 
 COMPLEXITY OF TASKS 
  • Duties are pre-determined; however, incumbent may realize different options and must be willing to discuss these with the appropriate people/channels.
  • Ability to read blueprints and are familiar with welding symbols.
 
Moderate physical effort may be required consisting of lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of heavy material
  • Ability to withstand a minimum of 10 hours on a concrete surface
  • Lift a maximum of 40 lbs using proper lifting techniques
